NZ Softball Representative

A former student of Mt Roskill Grammar School – Zane Van Lieshout has been named in the New Zealand Men’s Blacksox Softball team.  Zane finished at Mt Roskill Grammar four years ago and has the prestigious honour of playing for our Senior Boys Softball team as an Intermediate student.

NZ Rugby League Representative

Current Year 13 student Jerome Mamea (NMOR) played for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rugby League team in the school holidays.  They played two games against New South Wales from Australia, winning 1 and losing 1 game.screen-shot-2016-10-05-at-6-43-20-pm

Auckland Rugby Representative

Congratulations to Leilani Fuikefu (HSRG) for being selected in the Auckland Women’s Development Sevens team that travelled to Japan in the holidays.  Leilani was the top try scorer in our 10-a-side Girls Rugby team and has only been playing the sport for just over a year._1120248

Inter House Rugby Sevens

Next week there is Inter House Sevens Rugby running at lunchtime for Boys only.  If you want to play you will need to sign up with your House Dean or Sports Captain.  This is the last house competition to be played this year.

Archery and Waka Ama

We are starting two new Sports soon – Archery and Waka Ama.  If you are interested in taking part there are meetings tomorrow for more information.  The Archery meeting is at Interval in Gym 1, the Waka Ama meeting is at lunchtime in Gym 1.

Sports Awards

On Tuesday next week we are holding our annual Sports Awards evening in the Butler Hall from 7.00pm.  This year our guest speaker is Dillon Boucher, former New Zealand Basketball representative. We will be recognising the achievements of our top sports men and women and Sports Academy students.  All students should have received a permission slip which is now due to Ms Te Whiu.  You must have paid all of your sports fees to attend.poster-picture

Wider Education

A reminder to all Year 9 and 10 students to sign up to Wider Education activities as soon as possible.  The Year 10 Camp is now nearly full.  If you are planning a family holiday on the dates of 5-7 December you need to bring a signed note from home to the Attendance Office located in the Deans Centre.
