Week 4 Sports Wrap

The Under 15 Boys Basketball team won their grade last week with a win over MAGS.  Congratulations to the team and thank you to the manager Ms Tokley.  The Under 19 Boys and Girls finished their seasons last week.  Both teams won their final games to come in 3rd place in their grades.

Football

The 1st XI Boys Football team play the Quarter Final of the Knockout Cup competition away against Rosmini tomorrow.  The 13A Academy Football team beat St Kentigern on Saturday 2-nil. The 4th XI Boys won their game 1-0 over Auckland Grammar.

The 1st XI Girls Hockey team continued their good season with a 3-1 win over Carmel College.  They are playing their semi final game this Thursday against Baradene at 5.15pm on our turf.  The Boys and Girls Academy Hockey teams had solid wins last week as well.  The Boys are 4th in their grade and the Girls 2nd. 

Lacrosse

The Boys Lacrosse team started their season last week with an exciting win 5-4 over MAGS.  This was our first ever win over _1140077MAGS and they displayed great team spirit to come back from 0-3 down to seal the win.

Rugby

The 1st XV Rugby team won their semi final comprehensively on Saturday 50-5 over Southe rn Cross.  They play their final at home this Saturday against Pakuranga, 12pm kick off.  The 1st X (10) Rugby Girls team play their semi final this afternoon at 4pm on the main field against Tangaroa – get along to support the girls.   The Under 15 Girls 7-a-side team won their game on Friday to remain unbeaten in this competition.

The Premier Netball team beat Glendowie 30-23 on Saturday in a great game.

Cross Country

This Friday is the Cross Country event.  Entries for Year 11-13 students close on Wednesday at lunchtime.  To sign up see Mr Horne at lunchtimes in the Gym 3 Sports Office.  All Year 9 and 10’s will be running Period 2, there will be more information given by your PE teachers and Form Class noticeboard.

Inter House Football was held last week on the turf – the winners were Cooper who beat Rutherford 1-nil in the final.  This week there is Inter House Hockey running from today until Friday.  The current leaders overall are Sheppard house.
