Week 7 Sports Wrap

Tournament Week results

Last week we sent seven teams to National Winter Tournaments in Auckland and Tauranga.  Well done to everyone involved, including the coaches and managers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.  These were the results from our teams.


The Boys Football team were in the top competition in New Zealand and came 7th overall with 3 wins and 3 losses.  This is an outstanding result from a great team.  The Girls Football team also had a great competition with 6 wins and 2 losses over the week to finish in 9th place.  Breearna Johnson (CCAV) also scooped the Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals from all teams.


The Boys Hockey team finished in 5th place only losing one game all tournament.  The top goal scorer was Anirudh Bhatnagar (NKRS).  The Girls Hockey team finished in 6th place with 3 wins and 3 losses.  Amazing goal keeping by Anu Maibayar (STHJ) was a stand out as well as good defensive play from Virginia Payne (RKRA).


The Netball Girls had a great competition to finish in 4th place and earn promotion to the B grade next year.  The player of the tournament was Patrice Mu (HDNB).

Rugby League

The Boys Rugby League team won 3 games and lost 1 in the Development grade at the National Tournament.  They finished in 5th place in their grade.


The Basketball Boys had a tough competition to finish in 16th place from 24 teams.


The Boys Lacrosse team are now 3 wins from as many games and top their pool.  They head into cross over matches now against Westlake Boys on Friday at home.


Training starts today after school for any Boys interested in playing Sevens for the school.  You will need boots and the training will start by 3.30pm on the main field.
